PERFECT PARTNERS

Two’s company, as they say. We’d have to agree. Web Summit 2014 and Food Summit with Good Food Ireland are a perfect coupling. Less than a week till the largest technology conference in the world kicks off in Dublin on November 4th. During the four day event, Good Food Ireland will be the sole provider of food for thousands of delegates, speakers and international media. The happy band of Approved Providers are already preparing for what could be twenty thousand mouths to feed, during this major event. We’ve already given you a hint at what they might be cooking for meaty main courses. But there will be some great offerings from our farmhouse cheese makers, chutney and preserve specialists, bakers, bread makers and charcuterie artisan butchers. Throw in some colourful vegetarian salads from the likes of Nude Food and Cornucopia, dressings from Wild About, Tastefully Yours and The Wild Irish Foragers and Preservers, superlative pasta with homegrown veggies from Toscana Restaurant, spicy curries from Ananda,  fresh garden vegetables from  In Season Farm, hand made crisps from Keogh’s,  and there’s plenty to please the savoury palate.  So what about pudding? Needless to say, the crowds won’t be disappointed! Handmade chocolates from Wilde Irish Chocolates, Chez Emily and Lorge Chocolatier, farm yogurts from Killowen, jams from Crossogue Preserves, desserts from Lemon Tree Restaurant in Dunmore East, traditional Barm Brack from Hickey’s Bakery, Clonmel, Glenilen Farm Cheesecakes from West Cork, meringues from The Granville Hotel, Waterford, Ice creams from Rossmore Ice Cream, Linnalla and Glastry Farm – the list is endless. Suffice to say if you have a sweet tooth you won’t be going without! Lucky Web Summit attendees, we say. They are attending what has been called the best technology conference on the planet, and they are going to get some of the best food on the planet also!
