Killowen Farm Launches Two New Limited Edition Flavours

Fri 11th Jul 2014

Killowen Farm has just launched two new Limited Edition yogurts featuring locally-sourced fruit; Malone’s Loganberry and Wexford Strawberry & Rhubarb.

The Dunne family has achieved great success to date with the Killowen Farm Locally-Sourced range, including winning Gold and Silver Medals in the Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards and being short-listed for a Bord Bia award. The introduction of these new flavours bring bring the number of locally-sourced fruit flavours to five.

The idea of introducing Limited Edition flavours allows fruit to be used in season when it’s at its peak in terms of nutrition and taste. Once the fruit supply is used up, that flavour will be replaced with a new one. The loganberries for one of the new flavours are grown on James Malone’s Fruit Farm in nearby Ballon, Co. Carlow, while the second yogurt combines rhubarb from Kehoe Brothers in Ferns with strawberries, grown on Greenhill Fruit Farm in Davidstown, near Enniscorthy.

Commenting on the launch of these two new flavours, Killowen Farm’s owner Nicholas Dunne said, “We are always looking for new and interesting flavours to combine with our yogurt, and we are as exacting with the standard of the fruit as we are with the yogurt itself. We are excited to launch two wonderful new flavours which have proven true winners in tastings. Customers love the fact that we are using locally-sourced fruit and we are convinced that the taste is far superior. In addition we are giving our customers opportunities to try new flavours which are not already on the market, such as Loganberry. By partnering with our local growers we are able to showcase the best of the south-east in our products, something that makes us very proud”.

The Killowen Limited Edition yogurts are available in Pettitts SuperValu stores, Avoca and selected leading independent retailers.

R.R.P. €1.29 for a 140g glass jar.
