Spring is most definitely here. Long days are giving us much anticipation for the summer season ahead. Late spring and early summer are ideal times to get away before the schools break up for their main holiday. This time of the year makes for quiet times on the beaches and less queues at the major tourist sights and places of interest!

Ireland looks beautiful in April and May. As the weather improves, our hedgerows burst with life. There’s bright yellow gorse in blossom now, and later on, the pretty white flowers of hawthorn which make each country hedge look like it’s getting ready for a wedding! Hawthorn blossom is so prolific it weighs down the branches as they bob and sway in a gentle early summer breeze. As the season moves on, elderflower will come into blossom and foragers will be shinning up trees to gather it for delicious cordial. We have our very own Richmount Elderflower Cordial makers who do just that to put the taste of an Irish summer into a bottle!

Good Food Ireland Food Experiences

Of course we are biased, but food always plays a massive part in whatever holiday the Good Food Ireland team chooses to take! We like to be completely immersed in the food of the place we are visiting and learn something of the culture of the country too. This is the food for thought which refreshes our minds and adds to our culinary knowledge on a wider level.

Which is why we spend many hours devising holidays and breaks here in Ireland which will educate, entertain, and energise those who travel with us. Not to mention leave them with memories of a gourmet holiday like no other. Our experience is founded in working with the best food producers, chefs, hotel, cookery schools, restaurant or cafe owners, shopkeepers, farmers and fishermen. We like to learn the stories of each and every one of them and bring those stories to you, the gourmet traveller looking for an adventure that brings food, culture, history and heritage together.
