Good Food Ireland Conference and Awards 2012 in association with Kerrygold.

The 6th annual Good Food Ireland Conference and Awards ceremony in association with Kerrygold takes place on Tuesday, November 20th at The Shelbourne Hotel Dublin. The Good Food Ireland Experience Awards are now a firm fixture on the food awards calendar. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, T.D. is guest of honour at this year’s Awards, which will be hosted by RTÉ’s Mary Kennedy. These Awards celebrate the best of Irish food and focus on Irish ingredient-led cuisine and artisan food production.

Some of this year’s Awards include: Cookery School of the Year, Café of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Culinary Haven of the Year, Regional Newcomer of the Year, Overall Newcomer of the Year, Food Lovers Choice Award and the Good Food Ireland Supreme Award. The winners will reflect the core ethos of Good Food Ireland, which is to provide a quality authentic Irish food experience.

The title of this year’s conference is, ‘Marketing Food Experience – Make each customer count’. Marketing food experience examines customer needs both on-line and off-line and how Irish ingredient led cuisine and food produce can uniquely create new customer demand. The conference has an impressive line-up of speakers including our keynote speaker from the US, Dr. Sharib Kahn, Co-Founder of iFood.tv. Other speakers on the day include Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Simon Coveney, T.D., Felicity McCarthy, EMEA Small and Medium Business Manager for Facebook and Aidan Cotter, Chief Executive Officer, Bord Bia.

Margaret Jeffares MD of Good Food Ireland said: ‘These unique awards continue to recognise the many Irish food innovators that have helped to shape our vibrant food and hospitality sectors. The conference, beforehand, will provide a practical insight into how businesses can optimise their online presence and use of social media to attract new customers’.
