HOW DO YOU LIKE YOURS?


A recent post on Facebook got us thinking. Barry Liscombe, Head Chef of Harte’s Bar and Grill in Kildare town, posted a pic of his homemade sourdough sandwiches. They looked delicious. Fresh bread made the purist’s way. A homemade culture to rise the dough. Bread sliced thickly and toasted crisp. Salad, cheese and chutney in the middle. Mmmm. Thoughts of fave sarnies filled our heads. Brown Soda bread with cream cheese, smoked salmon and pickled cucumber. Crusty white yeast bread, buttered then filled with hot crisply grilled bacon. Brown wheaten with home baked ham, mature Irish cheddar and tomato relish.  Smoked Chicken on wholemeal with mustard mayo and pink peppercorns (Urru Culinary Store –  thank you!). Lunch pangs satisfied simply. Over to you for more suggestions…
