The Real Bread Gathering with the Bretzel Bakery


The Bretzel Bakery & Real Bread Ireland are holding a landmark Event, the Real Bread Gathering. They will bring together some of the best craft bakers and campaigners in Ireland for a talk and a panel discussion on all things real bread! There will be brilliant breads to taste and plenty to take home. 

Where: The Bernard Shaw, Portabello, Dublin 2. 

When: 7pm, Wednesday, 2nd December, 2015. 

Guest speaker Andrew Whitley, baker, writer and real bread campaigner: The Rise of Real bread in Ireland brings opportunities to make bread better for our health, our communities and the planet. How can we make the most of them? 

There will also be a panel discussion, with members of Real Bread Ireland, which will include Chef, Restauranteur and Food Activist, Jp McMahon. So get your questions ready! 

Andrew Whitely has led the UK’s revival in artisan baking. In 2008 he co-founded the Real Bread Campaign, which is helping the rise of additive-free local bread. In 2011, receiving the Special Judges’ Award at the BBC Food & Farming Awards, he was credited with “changing the way we think about bread”. Andrew has written two books, Bread Matters: Why and How to make your own and DO Sourdough. www.breadmatters.com

Jp McMahon is a chef, restauranteur and author. He is the founder of Food On The Edge, a two day symposium for chefs and food enthusiasts, culinary director of Eat Galway Restaurant Group, which comprises of Aniar, Cava Bodega and Eat Gastropub. He also runs Aniar Boutique Cookery School. Jp is commited to the educational and ethical aspects of food, to buying and supporting the best of local and free-range produce, and engaging directly with small farmers.
