SHERRY REVOLUTION

Fino, Oloroso, Manzanilla, Amontillado. Do you know what these are? If not, maybe time to learn! Sherries come in all sorts of styles. The Spanish enjoy them with tapas, as a pre-dinner drink, or even as a small little sip when the mood requires it! They are becoming popular in Ireland too – tradition is breaking away from the usual sweet sherry drunk at Christmas – into a modern trend of enjoying the different styles of this famous drink.  Education is all that’s required, and you can get that at Manning’s Emporium in Ballylickey, on beautiful Bantry Bay in West Cork. Gorgeous surroundings to try and taste, with some local Irish food on the menu,  to match your sherry.Sunday 26 May is World Sherry Day. Manning’s is celebrating in style – Andrew Heath of Manning’s has a special event planned to get us all  recognising styles with confidence. It takes place in this respected shop – one of the country’s first shops to pioneer local produce of West Cork and beyond. With that in mind Andrew now leads the way with sherry learning,  saying ‘ We want to show you that sherry is a great wine on its own – but even better with food.’ Expect some treats in store! To book this event direct visit here
