Which one are you?

Are you a tosser or a flipper?  Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any stats available on which practice is the most common when making a pancake. Which you will have to make tomorrow,  if you wish to uphold the tradition of Pancake Tuesday. Flipping involves turning the pancake over with a fish slice or similar implement, to make sure it cooks the other side.  With tossing, it’s all in the wrist action. A gentle flick combined with a wrist hooking up movement should be all that’s necessary to turn your pancake over mid air. Providing it’s not stuck to the base of the pan,  that is. There’s fun to be had in the practicing. Fancy peeling the pancakes off the ceiling, anyone…Votes now being taken…Darina Allen of Ballymaloe Cookery School advocates turning the pancake over with a spatula.
