As with all Good Food Ireland Approved Providers, local produce is the main criteria for a gourmet experience.
At Carrygerry Country House, Niall Ennis – an accomplished and experienced chef – prioritises quality ingredients over-complicated cooking techniques. In this way, the ingredients are the star of the show and diners are very approving indeed!
Dinner is taken in The Conservatory Restaurant, with its views over the river and front lawn from its floor-to-ceiling windows, and is a feast to linger over and enjoyed at your leisure.
On the menu, you can expect to see the best of west coast ingredients including plenty of seafood and Irish farmhouse cheeses. You’ll also get a chance to enjoy Carrygerry’s famous creamy seafood chowder. What a treat it is. A fine wine list accompanies modern Irish cuisine.
Breakfast is also served in the Conservatory Restaurant and is a feast of fresh bread, juices, yoghurts, cereals and fruit as well as house specialities like porridge with Irish whiskey cream and the ‘Full Irish’ with local butcher’s sausages, black and white pudding, bacon and free-range eggs. You’ll not go hungry here.
Rooms & Facilities
At Carrygerry Country House, rest and relaxation are taken very seriously indeed. The bedrooms are cosy and comfortable and combine the best of old and new in a style all their own. Period furnishings are in keeping with the rest of the house, but every mod con is here too.
Apart from the restaurant and beautiful grounds, there’s also a fantastic function room and the house also has a civil licence for wedding ceremonies.
Carrygerry Country House has eleven bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. Each one is individually styled and decorated in keeping with the period character of the house. Antiquities adorn the light-filled rooms and some even have elegant four-poster beds. Beds are dressed in crisp white bed linen with country-style throws and covers.
The modern bathrooms have showers, some have bathtubs too, and you can even stay in a room with a jacuzzi bath.
Whichever room you choose, you are sure to have a relaxing stay.

50th Birthday dinner
My husband, turned 50 yesterday the 16th of November. I booked dinner for 6.30pm for 8 adults and three children. We were welcomed by Gillian and brought into the bar which has a roaring fire on…we sat in armchairs and had a drink while the took our orders. It was the first night of their winter menu and it didn’t disappoint. We were brought to our table and moments later our starter arrived. Not a single complaint about anything. The spring rolls were huge! Our main courses arrived at the perfect amount of time between courses and everyone cleaned their plates. I especially loved the honey roasted parsnips…delicious. I’m a dessert fan and always save myself for it…it was amazing. I had the carrot cake with carrot sorbet….heaven on a plate…everyone loved their meal and the birthday boy has done nothing but rave about the food since. Thank you all for making his birthday such a pleasurable one that none of us will forget. Keep up the amazing work….you need to do culinary classes…and I’d be there.
Go neiri an tadh libh.
