A visit to Bengal Brasserie provides diners with an exciting introduction to the culinary delights of India with a local Irish ingredient twist to add to its appeal.

One of the standout culinary traditions of Bengal Brasserie is the use of a Tandoor oven. The Tandoor oven is one of the traditional cooking methods of Indian food. The oven is used to cook the fresh naan bread and some of the meat & fish dishes on skewers hung in the centre of the oven. The Tandoor oven is managed by a specialist chef skilled in using the Tandoor oven. The oven is fired up at 350 degrees Celsius.

Another differentiating feature of Bengal Brasserie is the fresh preparation of the spices. The curry leaves and seeds are roasted and ground fresh before mixing into a house recipe, giving guests a true to form and fresh dining experience.

The day we visited, the chef prepared a tasting platter of dishes. We sampled Chicken Tikka Tandoor, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala and a Rack of Lamb cutlet marinated in Mint and Coriander and cooked in the Tandoor oven. The combination of the marinade flavours with the dipping sauces on the side was a quality taste experience.

Furthermore, all the meat used in Bengal Brasserie is Halal meat.
