Overview
Lily & Wild is a family-owned Irish hospitality business founded by Kevin and Davina Walsh, with over 25 years’ experience across catering, events and restaurant operations in County Kildare. The business has been shaped by hands-on experience, high standards and a practical understanding of what keeps guests returning: consistency, quality and genuine welcome. The restaurants are located in Newbridge, Naas and Kildare, and while the settings may differ, the approach remains the same, ingredient-led menus, confident cooking and attentive service delivered without fuss. Lily & Wild Restaurant Kildare is a warm and contemporary dining experience. The interiors strike the perfect balance between cosy and modern, with plenty of space, natural light and a welcoming atmosphere that feels both comfortable and vibrant.
Led by our Kildare Head Chef Phillp, originally from New Zealand, our kitchen celebrates the very best of Irish produce with a fresh and creative spirit shaped by both local tradition and global influence. Phillps background brings a distinctive style to our menus through vibrant combinations, thoughtful simplicity, and a strong emphasis on provenance, all while honouring the exceptional produce of County Kildare and the rich bounty of Ireland’s producers.
The menu highlights the very best of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, offering creative twists on classic brunch favourites and comforting daytime dishes. When we visited, the menu featured inventive brunch plates, and specials on the day such as Smokey Chorizo Hash and a Croque Monsieur, or a hearty Mezze Bowl. The counter displays cakes, pastries, juices and smoothies. All dishes on the menu reflect the seasonality of the ingredients.
The food was very well presented and freshly made to order and the Croque Monsieur had ham that had been baked and then sliced for the sandwich and was served with a small bowl of cubed fried potatoes. All were excellent.
There are gluten free dishes and vegetarian options on the menu as well as gluten free pastries.
There is plenty of room between the tables in the restaurant and there is a lovely seating area outside at the front which has a closed in garden feel.
Lunch options vary from a light bite to larger plates depending on your appetite.
The quality of the food served, the inviting décor and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff make this restaurant truly enjoyable. It offers a stylish yet relaxed setting that’s perfect for everything from a leisurely brunch to a casual lunch stop after a day visiting nearby attractions such as the Irish National Stud or shopping at Kildare Village.
