Dining at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens offers an exciting selection, the main one of which is The Grill Restaurant which is set within the hotel looking out onto the green lawns and views of the Gap of Dunloe. The culinary team here will wow you with the variety and quality dining that is evident at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens.
The food offering across the hotel is an exciting mix of Irish and international cuisine which is created with a wealth of local produce, something that is an integral part of the experience at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens. The hotel group itself rears a herd of Irish Angus Cattle which form the basis of the local food offering as beef is supplied directly by themselves, meaning no food miles whatsoever.
The Grill Restaurant at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens is the main dining space in the hotel. This open, contemporary space affords you spectacular views through large windows out onto the Gap of Dunloe and verdant green lawns much associated with the Irish countryside.
We had the pleasure of eating here during our visit to The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens. The menu offers plenty of choice with local seafood playing a starring role. We sampled a lovely Scallop starter that was seasoned to perfection and served with Chorizo to add a bit of spice. For the main course, we stayed with the fish & seafood offering and went for a dish that was the special for the evening, a delicious Salmon Roulade. We loved the twist on switching up a traditional dessert dish that was changed to fit a savoury offering. The texture and taste of the roulade was amazing and the fresh summer greens served with the dish, we couldn’t get enough of.
We rounded off the dining experience with a rich chocolate mousse cake served with seasonal raspberries, this combination was the perfect balance of sweet and rich. The perfect finale to what was an immensely enjoyable meal. While we very much went for seafood options on the menu, there is plenty of choice across the board with dishes such as Chicken Supreme along with Braised Lamb Shank available. There’s even a tasty Prime Irish Beef Burger available. Vegetarian and gluten options also feature on the menu, so all members of the family with different dietary requirements will be catered for.
One of the exciting elements of The Grill Restaurant is its state-of-the-art Josper Grill. This has a dedicated section on the menu and is a must-experience for those lovers of steaks. The Josper Grill provides the optimum cooking environment for meat as it’s a hybrid grill and oven. Providing you with the taste of a grilled steak with a controlled cooking temperature of an oven. Its closed setting means no moisture is lost resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth juicy steak full of flavour.
The Grill Restaurant through its menus and display re-affirms its commitment to local food and it very much brings the customer along with them. On the wall of the restaurant, you’ll find a detailed infographic of an Angus Cow with various cuts of beef being shown. This ties the restaurant back to the hotel’s own herd of Angus cattle from which their beef comes from.
