Produced with an assortment of local ingredients, Frank Keane expertly creates and flavours his handmade artisan chocolates from his shop in Kinsale, Co. Cork. While creating favourite chocolate treats, Frank relishes a challenge and is happy to create bespoke chocolates for customers. He creates small batches of varying chocolate types and flavours, along with loving the opportunity to get his creative juices flowing with some beautifully designed chocolates.The creation of Koko of Kinsale came as a result of Frank’s resilience to the calamity that was the Irish recession that started in 2008, a recession that unfortunately saw Frank having to close his popular ceramics business. Not to be deterred, in 2012 Frank bounced back and focused his passion and creativity on a new venture, the art of chocolate making.
Frank Keane creates the most beautiful and delicious handmade chocolates from his chocolate shop in Kinsale, Co. Cork. Being a very creative person, Frank combines his excellent artistic abilities with the art of chocolate making. His handmade chocolates are so beautiful that you feel just a bit guilty about breaking them into pieces and enjoying them immensely. While you will always find the favourite chocolate flavours in numerous delicious chocolate products in his shop you will also get the chance to sample chocolates made of an enticing mix of exciting flavours. These include locally sourced seaweed along with other local ingredients including locally distilled spirits.
The Koko of Kinsale range of chocolate is an enticing balance of carefully crafted flavours with a wonderfully creative design and presentation. Koko chocolate gleams from their window display in the boutique shop front. Visitors wandering around this food-centric town, are no doubt drawn in to discover more about these lovely creations!
Koko chocolates come in a range of mouth-watering flavours, many of which take inspiration from the signature flavours of Kinsale and beyond. Seaweed foraged from the nearby shoreline is combined with ginger makes for an exciting flavour combination. Gin lovers will be bowled over with the Kinsale Gin and Orange Milk Chocolate creation or the Whiskey and Champagne Truffles add that hint of decadence! For something more traditional, you can’t go wrong with a Hazelnut Praline or Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel. Individual chocolates can be purchased in beautifully designed book boxes that make for wonderful gifts for family and friends.
Koko of Kinsale also makes an assortment of chocolate bars that you can pick up in the shop or online. Flavours range from the favourite Milk and White Chocolate to 70% Dark Chocolate Orange. Get the rich taste of Koko Chocolate with their 100% Dark Chocolate or try the great-tasting sugar-free options. Koko also has a crystallised range of products that have proven to be very popular. Ginger and Orange slices are crystallised, a process that takes a few days before being dipped in Dark Chocolate. Simply divine!
