The Lansdowne Kenmare boasts a rich history dating back to 1790, when it was built as a town residence for the 2nd Earl of Shelburne. This makes it one of Kenmare’s oldest landmarks. In 1972, the hotel was purchased by Bobby and Breda Hanley, who renamed it The Lansdowne Arms Hotel. Their son, Patrick Hanley, returned to Kenmare in 2024 with his wife Aileen to take over the hotel.
