Overview

Five Farms is a luxury Irish Cream Liqueur beverage, the heart of its provenance is based in Co Cork in the southwest corner of Ireland. Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur launched to the market in 2017 by Johnny Harte, an expert on the international drinks industry.

Meet the Maker

Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur is the brainchild of Johnny Harte, an experienced veteran of the Irish and International drinks industry. Johnny identified that very little product development had happened in this space. Through innovation, Johnny set about developing a luxury product that would fill the upper and premium end of the market for the Cream Liqueur space. Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur was born.

The provenance of the core ingredients is what sets Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur apart from its competition. The quality Irish Cream is sourced from 5 dairy farms in Co Cork. The Irish Whiskey is produced by Irish Distillers in Midleton Co Cork and the neutral spirit is produced from milk whey sourced in West Cork from the Carbery group. A true taste of Ireland’s verdant landscape.

A unique point of difference is the production of Irish cream. Grass and clover pastures grow for 300 days a year in this part of West Cork. The farms are medium-sized holdings that have introduced a best practice management plan in how the soil and pasture are managed. A lot of the animal management and milking process is automated, resulting in happy and stress-free cows.

Once the milk arrives from the farm gate the testing steps start, once approved it then is pumped into storage silos and it’s then separated into rich dairy cream and blended with premium Irish Whiskey and the recipe botanicals. The finished product then goes through a final testing step in the lab and by a quality tasting expert to approve the finished product ready for bottling and shipping.

One of the hallmarks of the milk produced across the five farms from which the beverage is produced is the multiple generational experiences that are applied to the management of the family farms, the management of the grass pasture, and the care of the animals all to deliver a high-quality dairy ingredient for Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur.

The processor of Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur is Silverpail Dairy in Co Cork. A stand-out takeaway from our visit was the attention to detail and the test and measurement of quality from the start to the end of the manufacturing process. Top priority, quality all the way.

To match the stand out development of this luxury product, the innovation that was applied to the bottling and packaging is a masterclass. The deep brown bottle is designed to mirror an old-fashioned milk churn used in rural Ireland back in the day to transport the fresh milk from the farm gate to the co-op. The bottle is fitted with a unique clip down cap and the branding and labelling is presented in a classic original style.

The cornerstone of this beverage is the quality of the Irish ingredients says Johnny Harte, “The Irish cream always has and always will only come from grass-fed cows on five dairy farms in a special part of South West Cork. There is a unique microclimate in this part of Ireland where the Atlantic Gulf Stream comes in along the coastline of Co Cork which promotes early and later pasture growth”.

From small acorns in 2017 and with a very successful partnership with the US Drinks producer McCormick Distillery in Western Missouri, Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur has penetrated the North American market as the international market shows an appetite for a high-quality Irish cream beverage.

Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur is a sweet drink with vanilla, butterscotch and caramel fondue tones. Best served cold and on ice, if preferred or at room temperature. It’s also recommended to incorporate the liqueur into a cocktail, for example, try Five Farms Espresso Martini.

THE BEST!!

I’ve had many Irish Creams and this beats them all. Pretty much the only one my wife will drink. We have an Irish Fest celebration (2nd or 3rd largest in America) every August here in NE Iowa and Five Farms is one of the sponsors and a big draw. Everyone loves it! Thanks to them for such a wonderful product. (I also own a lot of Midleton products – happy to hear that’s used in there.)
