Esperanza Hernandez, the visionary behind The Old Roots, has embarked on a pioneering journey to craft exceptional wines from 100% Irish grapes, grown in their own vineyards in Wexford. The Old Roots presents a curated selection of wines, each thoughtfully named after stars or constellations, inspired by the wonderful sky that can be seen from the vineyard.

 

  • Caeli: A structured yet silked Cabernet wine, with powerful flavour and long-lasting finish. Subtle notes of black cherries, dark figs, blackcurrants and toffee appear on the palate.
  • Ginan: Perfectly balanced with scents of white fruit, peach and apricot, this Gewürztraminer offers Floral and citric notes for an intense and spectacular aroma.
  • Rigel: This Riesling is honest in nose and balanced in mouth, with fresh, open aroma, a hint of lemon and a harmonious touch of white fruit.
  • Perkad: Pinot Blanc is an elegant wine with a surprising, unique taste. It delivers a soft herbal flavour with subtle notes of green bell pepper.
  • Elnath: Full of personality rosé with a silky way in the palate, a lovely roses scent and delicate primary aromas of cherry zest.
  • Pleion: This elegant Pinot Noir is a structured wine with floral and fruity characteristics and an intense and complex bouquet.
  • Chara: Impressive in nose and balanced in mouth, this Chardonnay wine achieves its full intense character after resting six months in bottle.
