From Tennessee to Cork…

Tennessee is in the South of the USA. Known for colourful food that almost always has a kick of spice about it. The region is also a great place to find farmers markets full of local produce, superb restaurants featuring traditional dishes, and whisky trails which include some of the big names in American Whisky production.  Lots in common with Cork in it’s committed approach to highlighting the food and drinks of the local region. So we’re absolutely sure that Paul Sigler, new Sous Chef at the River Lee Hotel, Cork, who hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee,  is going to be right at home in his new role! Paul will be working alongside Corkonian Head Chef Shane O’Sullivan, using the pick of Cork produce for menus for The Weir Bistro. We’re wondering whether we might see Cork’s familiar local ingredients merged with some tasty Tennessee twists, appearing on the menu soon! Watch this space…
