Our Facebook page of two days ago raised the delicious topic of festive cupcakes. There are some stunning designs around. From beautiful white frosted, snowmen adorned cakes, to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer faces, Christmas Trees, Robins and Fairy Stars. The sky’s the limit when it comes to decorating – it’s all up to your imagination! The simplest of all decorations for a festive tiered stand of cupcakes is white piped frosted icing and little metallic balls of silver and gold. These work best if you use just one colour on each cake, sprinkling them over – then arrange in tiers of gold topped cakes  and silver topped ones.  For an even more stunning result, try to find silver and gold cupcake cases for baking the cakes. If you are not a dab hand with decorating, you may cheat and get ready made Santa faces or  little icing figurines to pop on top of your cream frosted cakes. A little shortcut won’t hurt!
