THE END IS NIGH…

TV channels will bombard us from now until New Year’s Day with programmes about ‘The Best of’ and ‘The Worst of’ from 2013. We suppose you’ve had your own highlights from this year, as we have here at Good Food Ireland. The Good Food Ireland brand was fully and successfully represented at many events during this year, including the first ever Food Summit in Dublin, in early November. It was an event to remember, with food from many of our Approved Providers all cleaned out on the first day,  by thousands of delegates to this web based conference event. But our producers, chefs and business owners rose to the challenge, making more delicious food overnight to feed the crowds the next day. We also attended the Breeder’s Cup in the USA, and were present at the Royal Highland Show in Scotland in June, among other events during this fruitful year. Our conference and awards in late November honoured the best of the best – and saw the launch of the new Good Food Ireland Pre-Paid MasterCard gift card – the passport to food travel in Ireland. As Christmas drew closer, our stand at the National Craft Fair in Dublin was as popular as ever. During the past year, our Good Food Ireland Approved Provider family grew in numbers, with many new businesses coming aboard. We are proud of our achievements this year and will continue to work hard in 2014,  to raise the bar for Irish food and food tourism. We’d like to say thank you to all our followers on this website and on Facebook and Twitter. We hope you will carry on supporting our local farmers, fisherman, growers and artisan producers  in the coming year, by shopping, eating and staying at businesses which carry the Good Food Ireland logo.  Your comments and views are always welcome on this blog and via our social media pages. On this day before New Year’s Eve, we hope you are looking forward to partying your way into a happy and prosperous 2014. Tomorrow we’ll have some nibbles and drinks suggestions to help that happen!
