GOOD FOOD IRELAND AT THE WHITE HOUSE

What a huge stride forward for Good Food Ireland within the USA. Our Founder Margaret Jeffares has been invited by President Obama, to join the Saint Patrick’s Day Celebrations at The White House tomorrow, March 17th. The invite came in the form of a personal invitation with hand written envelope, embossed with The White House logo. Must have been some shock to see that fall through the letterbox at Good Food Ireland HQ in Ballykelly!

Needless to say, MJ is over the moon. “I am hugely honoured to have received the invitation from The President and will be flying the flag for Irish food and good local food places in Ireland" she says. Margaret will be attending a number of high profile business networking events during her trip, as Good Food Ireland reaches out to the global Irish Diaspora. “The US is a hugely important market for both Irish agriculture and tourism. By raising the perception of Ireland's food we provide a new growth driver for tourism,  provided we direct those tourists to quality places that are actually using local Irish food" says the visionary of the Good Food Ireland brand.

On a personal note, the lady from Wexford is extremely excited!  "This invitation to the White House on St Patrick's Day is a lifelong ambition. I have watched with huge pride for many years our Taoiseach hand over the pot of Shamrock. To be there to represent all our wonderful chefs, food producers, farmers and fishermen and Ireland's food tourism is the greatest reward for me, for the many years of pioneering and dedication to Good Food Ireland"

Well done Margaret Jeffares – we are very proud of you!
