In Dublin, Butlers Pantry Shops are paying tribute this weekend to the thousands of American tourists and residents they have welcomed and fed in their years of business, with a Stateside extravaganza of food and cookery demonstrations. Favourite 4th of July treats like American Apple Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, and meringues in red,  white and blue, barbecues, traditional hopscotch on the pavement games and the low down on USA style ‘Plank Cooking’. This involves cooking fish and meats on Himalayan Cedar planks,  to infuse subtle smokey aromas. The Butler’s Pantry Plank Cooking technique will be demonstrated at three stores.
