ON THE SUMMIT OF SUCCESS…

Today's blog proudly announces to the world and it's aunty that Good Food Ireland is ready for action as official partners of the Web Summit 2014 for the second year running. Following last year's runaway inaugural event, the Food Summit with Good Food Ireland was invited back to this prestigious technological conference in Dublin, which will attract thousands of international visitors and delegates over three days from 4th-6th November. Good Food Ireland's network of passionate food providers are on a call to arms – for an exclusive mission to be the sole providers preparing food for the delegates each day,  plus major food showcases which will take place during the event. Web Summit has been called the best technology conference on the planet – bringing together the brightest brains in the industry. This year's speakers include Werner Vogels of Amazon USA, Anna Patterson, VT of Engineering, Google USA, Drew Houston, founder of Dropbox, USA, and Irishman John Collison, President and Co-Founder of Stripe, Ireland, among other big names from the big players on the internet. New this year is the Food Tech stage, hosting discussions and demonstrations on the latest food technologies. Renowned UK food writer Tom Parker-Bowles will speak on the topic of Man V Food – it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about our relationship with food production and preparation in the modern day. The hot topic of 3D printing now also extends to food, as delegates will be  hearing about the 'leapfrog technology of the artificial egg' – from Josh Tetrick, Founder and CEO of Hampton Creek 3D Printed Food! The Food Tech stage promises to be a highly interesting and controversial spot for discussion on the ethics and technology of food in all it's forms. And during all this, our army of dedicated cooks, chefs and producers will be beavering away, flying the flag for Good Food Ireland, working like Trojans to show off Ireland's best ingredients and dishes to an international audience. Once again giving this country the opportunity to impress thousands of visitors and media with a true Irish ingredient led food experience. The Food Summit with Good Food Ireland will be located in a purpose built marquee in Herbert Park. We're very proud to be partners of  Web Summit again this year and can't wait to get going. From Nov 4th – 6th – exciting dates for the diary!!
