A TASTE OF IRELAND IN THE UK

Good Food Ireland Approved Provider helps achieve success in the UK! Well done to John Cummins and Michael Fennelly of Irish Piemontese Beef, for their sterling – excuse our pun – efforts in impressing the UK market,  and helping win an award for a specialist butcher. The beef was inspiration enough for healthy eating specialist butcher Andrew Gordon to enter his retail outlet and online store in the Healthy Food and Drink Awards 2014 in the UK. A recent article on the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce website announces Andrew’s  success in acheiving the bronze medal, plus runner up in The Best Retailer Award category. Up against big names like Sainsbury’s and other supermarket and website retail outlets. Irish Piemontese Beef is low in fat and cholesterol and proving to be popular with red meat lovers here and abroad. The Piemontese breed is Italian, and has taken to the Irish climate extremely well. All John and Michael’s pure bred beef is raised on farms in Tipperary. This Irish raised beef was used by esteemed chef Anton Mossiman, at the Good Food Ireland launch of the online shop in London in 2013. Mr. Mossiman cooked the beef in his restaurant Mossiman’s, as part of an exclusive menu for Good Food Ireland Managing Director Margaret Jeffares and other members of the team, plus a select group of food journalists. Andrew Gordon said after winning bronze, he was  ‘delighted to be working with my Irish partners’. He is hoping this beef will help put red meat back on the top of the shopping list for his customers. Some Good Food Ireland chefs are already convinced of the quality and health benefits of this truly unique Irish product.
