WEDDING STYLE

Country House weddings are becoming quite the thing for many couples. Modern Brides and Grooms are swapping the formality of a church ceremony and hotel venue for more intimate nuptuals in homely surroundings. Carrygerry House in Newmarket-on-Fergus has become a popular wedding venue. Owners Gillian and Niall Ennis know how to make the day magical in every way. Wedding parties can hire the whole of this splendid country residence for private use, and enjoy an array of local produce as part of the wedding feast. Gillian says ‘The home from home feeling of a country house wedding has become the way to go for many couples. We can cater wedding groups of up to 120 people, and we have a civil marriage licence so couples can get married in the house as well as enjoying their wedding celebration here’   We love this magnificent family run house, with it’s period features throughout, comfortable bedrooms with antique furnishings, a cosy sitting room and light filled Conservatory Restaurant dining room where small wedding groups can enjoy the wedding feast. Larger groups are seated in a special atmospheric function room outdoors, accessed by a pretty covered walkway decorated with fairy lanterns, and with access to a garden terrace with log fire outside. Scenic corners provide a photogenic backdrop for wedding photos, indoors or out. A perfect spot to tie the knot, in the care of a husband and wife team who have thought of every little detail to make a wedding day unique.
