WINNERS ABOUND!

Phew! The waiting and anticipation is over for the businesses in our Good Food Ireland Awards 2013 Shortlists! A glittering evening of food stars attended Ireland’s food ‘oscars’ at an evening ceremony at The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. Everyone in the room was shortlisted for an award – and as was said in the speeches before the ceremony – every one of them wasa winner in their own right. Good Food Ireland’s business owners focus on Irish ingredient led cuisine, which supports local producers, farmers and fishermen throughout the island of Ireland. The eventual winners in each category were presented with their certificates, framed in Waterford Crystal,  by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D, after a wonderful dinner created by The Shelbourne’s executive Chef Gary Huges and his team. What a night it was! Food loving Cork had several heroes to celebrate. Mount Juliet in Kilkenny swept the board on the night with accolades for  Outstanding Place to Stay, Best Restaurant and the overall Supreme Award. Find out who won what here…. We’ll do it all again next year! But for now, we congratulate everyone who was shortlisted and most especially, those who won out on the night…… what a terrific bunch of dedicated food providers we have.
