BERRY NICE
It’s summer berry time! The season provides just a few short months in which to enjoy Ireland’s homegrown strawberries, raspberries and other soft fruits we all love. As we often say at Good Food Ireland, every experience is a fine dining experience. That includes buying your freshly harvest berries direct from one of our two well established soft fruit growers. Kearn’s Fruit Farm in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, has been producing highest quality soft fruit for over forty years. Jim Kearns grows sweet Elsanta and large Sonata strawberries, and flavourful Tullameen, Glenample and Polka raspberries. These are available direct from the farm, with visitors always welcome. Also in Wexford,  John Greene’s Greens Berry Farm has a farm shop stall in Tinnock, Gorey, Co Wexford, just off Junction 22 on the M11. The farm shop stall is very visible and accessible to travellers passing by – colourfully decorated and lined with punnets of strawberries, raspberries and other seasonal berries grown in the fields just behind the farm shop stall. A great stop for anyone who fancies a punnet or two of summer berries to take on a picnic or enjoy in the car. John’s top quality soft summer berries are also available in Greens Berry Farm Shop on the  Courtown Road, Gorey, Co.Wexford. Here you can find a huge selection of berries, plus home made jams from the farm’s own fruit. Â
