BARMY ARMY…

Barron’s Bakery in the tiny Waterford village of Cappoquin is known for its quality home baked treats. This bakery, now owned by Esther Barron and her husband Joe, has been feeding the local community for many a decade. Esther’s father’s original Scotch stone ovens are still used to bake the many breads and scones this bakery is famous for. The original bakery was established in 1887. By now it’s built up an enviable reputation in and around the area.  Barron’s Barm Brack has been made to a traditional recipe for years. This old fashioned farmhouse sweet loaf is loaded with fruit and some spice – made to be slathered in butter and served with a cup of tea. The café at Barron’s has many an order for it daily, and whole loaves fly off the bakery shop shelves! Now you can take a little taste home or to the office  – one generous single thick slice,  individually packaged, which satisfies the need for sweet at that certain time of day! Barron’s Barm Back is made fresh every morning, then sliced and seal wrapped in optimum condition. Try it toasted, when the subtle spiciness and natural fruit taste is enhanced to the max! A great breakfast slice…
