FRIDAY FOOD FACT – FISH
It’s Good Friday and fish is on the menu. This tradition stems from days of old in the Church, when parishioners were encouraged not to eat meat on the day Christ was crucified. Fish became an alternative source of protein for Good Friday – and every Friday – in some Irish households. Not a bad idea when it is highly recommended to include fish in the diet at least twice a week. So have look at the fish dishes on our recipe listings and see if you can find a new idea to try out this Good Friday. Our chefs love using the best of Irish fish and shellfish in all sorts of ways, so their recipes are bound to inspire! Happy Easter!
