The providence of The Silver Restaurant can be traced back to the 1930s when Dominic Doyle senior operated a craft butchers’ shop and showing innovation and leadership ahead of its time opening Ireland’s first-ever delicatessen shop.

Afternoon tea at Domo’s is an indulgent experience with homemade scones, desserts, treats, and pastries on display for guests to view before being served at their tables. For lunch, the menu showcases modern Irish cuisine with house recipes that are all homemade using the very best local and artisan ingredients. One of their standout dishes is the homemade sausage roll made with ground Irish pork, Inch House Black pudding, Bramley apple, and wild thyme herbs, served with fresh salads and Ballymaloe relish on the side.

Fresh and flavourful salads are also on offer and are served by the café team at the tables. Rustic sandwiches featuring deli meats, salads, and more can be combined with the soup of the day for a wholesome lunchtime experience. Homemade desserts and treats are a house speciality and are perfect for a quick visit with artisan coffee. The Chocolate Brownies are a must-try!

The beautifully appointed landscaped garden located adjacent to the award winning restaurant, is the ultimate outdoor entertaining space. Enjoy the extensive menu from The Silver Restaurant offering a wide range of dishes using only the finest Irish ingredients to suit all dietary requirements. A spacious sunny garden with the added benefit of a gazebo and optional shaded seating.

In addition to the café restaurant, they offer order and collect, delivery by appointment service, and cater to corporate and home events. The restaurant is available for hire for private and corporate events.

Facilities

The Silver Restaurant operates 7 days a week and serves breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. It is located within the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre situated in the heart of Newbridge town. The café restaurant is just a short walk from the Whitewater shopping centre. Customers can avail of free car parking on-site, and coach parking is also available.

Located just minutes from the M7 motorway and a 40-minute car journey from Dublin. Newbridge is also easily accessible by public transport, with a mainline train station serviced by major roots and the local Arrow loop service from Portlaoise to Dublin. Bus routes also run from Dublin city centre and nearby local towns.

Newbridge Silverware is now giving visitors the opportunity to witness the skill and craftsmanship that is behind this iconic brand with their dedicated Factory Tour.

Take a look behind the scenes as our craftsmen and women create cutlery, jewellery and more. Immerse in the history and meet the characters.

This is an opportunity to experience the skill of manufacturing tableware and jewellery, a craft that is virtually unchanged since the company was founded in 1934.

The Factory Tour is a guided tour that runs Monday –Thurs at 11am and 2pm. Fridays – 11am. This can be booked directly with Newbridge Silverware.

Sustainability

Business operations

The Silver Restaurant uses compostable containers for all take-away orders and has implemented a comprehensive recycling plan throughout its operations. Suppliers are encouraged to reduce and eliminate plastic and packaging at the point of delivery to the business. In addition, all light appliances have been refitted with energy-efficient LED fittings.

Employee Actions

All employees have received training to support the recycling policy and play their part in its implementation.
