This week, Good Food Ireland® hosted an exclusive Showcase Dinner in Milan, Italy, in collaboration with Tourism Ireland and Ireland West Airport. The event, which welcomed approximately 60 key media representatives and tour operators, took place at Identità Golose Milano, the renowned International Hub of Gastronomy, known for featuring some of the most prominent figures in fine dining from across Italy and around the world.
The evening’s programme included an on-stage presentation by Good Food Ireland® introducing the Trustmark brand and its Collection of approved businesses, along with the unveiling of the new Good Food Ireland® Experience Platform. Following the presentation, Alison Johnston, Sales & Marketing Director at Good Food Ireland®, held one-to-one meetings with tour operators, while Margaret Jeffares, CEO of Good Food Ireland®, conducted interviews with media representatives.
The highlight of the evening was a specially curated showcase dinner, featuring premium ingredients sourced from Good Food Ireland® producers. The menu included an array of iconic Irish produce, such as K O’Connell’s Irish Organic Smoked Salmon, traditional Irish Soda Bread with Kerrygold Butter, Achill Island Sea Salt, Tom Durcan’s Spiced Beef, Milleens Farmhouse Cheese, Boyne Valley Blue Goat’s Cheese, Janet’s Country Fayre Chutney, On the Pigs Back Wheat and Rye Crackers, Kelly’s of Newport PutĂ³g and Croagh Patrick Oysters.
In addition to the dinner, guests were invited to participate in a special prize draw. Prizes included a Good Food Ireland® voucher for a two-night stay with dinner for two at Delphi Lodge Resort in Connemara, alongside two exclusive Good Food Ireland® Experiences: The Crafted Journey of Smoked Salmon at Connemara Smokehouse and a Meet the Maker Oyster Farm Tour & Tasting Experience at Croagh Patrick Seafoods. Each winner also received an exclusive Good Food Ireland® Salmon of Knowledge Tea Towel, uniquely designed by an Irish artist. The tea towel, hand-drawn to reflect the ancient Irish legend of the Salmon of Knowledge, celebrates the wisdom and deep-rooted connection between Ireland’s food, heritage and landscape.
The event highlighted Good Food Ireland® as the Trustmark for premium food and drink experiences across the island of Ireland, reaching a highly targeted audience of food and drink professionals. The showcase brought the essence of Good Food Ireland® to life, emphasising the authenticity, quality, sustainability and provenance that define its approved Collection.
By connecting influential media and tour operators with the Collection and Experiences behind the brand, Good Food Ireland® generated valuable opportunities for culinary tourism and export, further supporting the continued growth and global recognition of Ireland’s food and tourism hospitality sector.
