Good Food Ireland® is delighted to share exciting news from one of the iconic hotels in its Collection. The Great Southern Killarney has announced the appointment of Heiko Riebandt as its new Director of Culinary, just ahead of the much-anticipated launch of its new restaurant, Arbour, this September.
Originally from Germany, Heiko brings with him an impressive international pedigree, having honed his skills in some of Europe’s most esteemed Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels across Germany, Switzerland and Ireland. Irish diners may already be familiar with his work from his six-year tenure as Executive Head Chef at the Killarney Park Hotel, where he earned a loyal following for his refined yet approachable style. Most recently, Heiko led the culinary programme at the five-star superior Zürserhof in Austria, further enriching his global experience.
“We’re delighted to have Heiko join the team,” said Jamie Power, General Manager at Great Southern Killarney. “His passion for seasonal flavours and creating unforgettable dining experiences is exactly what Arbour is all about.”
Housed in the elegant Garden Room, Arbour will offer a relaxed brasserie-style experience, with a menu that shines a spotlight on Kerry’s exceptional local produce. Diners can expect modern classics with refined touches, perfect for marking a special occasion or enjoying a spontaneous weekday lunch among friends.
As a long-standing member of the Good Food Ireland® Collection, Great Southern Killarney continues to champion Ireland’s food and hospitality values. The arrival of Heiko Riebandt and the opening of Arbour marks a new and exciting chapter in their commitment to delivering outstanding Irish culinary experiences.
