The true highlight of our visit, was the culinary journey. Dinner was a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to quality and local produce. Our house-made curried cauliflower soup with coconut milk and pumpkin seeds, served with a delectable array of house-baked brown bread and onion scones, was a mouth-watering start. The fillet of Irish beef, cooked to perfection as requested, was accompanied by fondant potato, broccoli stems, carrot purée and a rich beef jus. The generous offering of additional vegetables and potatoes showcased a dedication to guest satisfaction. We concluded with the Tulfarris Glazed Apple Mousse featuring apple glaze, oat crumble and ginger anglaise, a dessert that balanced freshness with indulgence. The waitstaff’s knowledge of the provenance of each ingredient, shared with enthusiasm, added an extra layer of appreciation to the dining experience.
Breakfast in the Fairways Restaurant, a self-service affair, offered an extensive array of choices. The sheer variety of local juices, cereals, fruits, yogurts and breads complemented the very tasty full Irish breakfast.
The Brasserie, serving daytime and evening menus, clearly caters well to golfers and leisure guests with its well-presented dishes. The Fairways, with its dedicated kitchen and Head Chef Dan Ottaway, who manages all the kitchens in Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, efficiently manages breakfast and dinner. The fully booked Manor House for private events further highlighted the resort’s versatility.
Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort offers exceptional value for money. The wine list, though compact, features a good selection of Irish beers, spirits, and juices with the addition of wine vintages being a small but impactful suggestion. The personalised wine recommendations for each dish were a truly inspired touch.
