Over the last few years we have seen an explosion of restaurants, small cafes, pubs, hotels and country houses using local produce along with passionate people sustainably sourcing Irish ingredients for their food and drink produce, the kind of people and places that Good Food Ireland has celebrated for years.

So what exactly does the renowned green-and-black sign stand for? Since it was first seen in 2006, the sign has traditionally identified hotels and restaurants offering excellent food and drink with a commitment to Ireland’s indigenous ingredients, supporting Irish farmers, food producers and fishermen. These are still our guiding principles, but we are now also strongly focused on promoting many other aspects of good food and hospitality, not least, greater transparency in terms of product, service and experience. We are above all passionate about authenticity, distinctiveness and personal service.
