Overview

As you drive through the gates to this lovely old country house hotel you know you have arrived somewhere special. Peacefully set in some 50 acres of mature gardens and woodland walks overlooking the scenic Cashel Bay, this really is the very heart of Connemara. Cashel House Hotel was built in the 19th century and this gracious country home was converted to a hotel in 1968 by the McEvilly family and is owned and run by the family ever since. In the present day, Brian McEvilly has taken the reins, with a determination to continue the amazing hospitality legacy of the McEvilly Family. On entering through an open door, we could feel the warmth of generations. A lifelong collection of paintings hung on the walls and a welcoming bowl of water and towel for pets was left to the side. While the house has since been extended, the original features have all been carefully maintained and antique furniture and family heirlooms adorn the rooms and hallways.

Dining

The spacious, light filled conservatory restaurant looks onto the gardens. Tables draped in white linen, silver butter dishes and China plates set the scene for good old-fashioned hospitality. This is Irish country house living at its best.
