The Maynooth railway station is 600m from the hotel, the Maynooth train station is very well serviced by a commuter service to Dublin City centre and a mainline passenger service connecting Dublin and Galway. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre on Straffan Road with an abundance of free car parking at the hotel. Arriving at the hotel, you are greeted by a modern contemporary entrance facility leading to a bright newly refurbished reception area. The atmosphere is welcoming and professional and is matched by the friendly and helpful reception staff on duty. The hotel offers a choice of dining options The Enclosure Restaurant, The Arkle Bar and The Shoda Market Café. The Arkle Bar is designed to provide a food service in the evenings, from 5pm-9pm. For the locals looking to meet, watch a match or just relax, there is a separate section to the bar. The Arkle bar also has a large covered outdoor terrace to the front. The Glenroyal Hotel is very well located just off the Dublin – Galway motorway (4km), 20 min from Dublin city centre and 30 min from Dublin Airport. This convenient location makes the Glenroyal a destination of choice for conferences, meetings, events, dinners and weddings. The Enclosure at Arkle Restaurant is the newest dining option at the Glenroyal Hotel, offering a fine dining experience. The Enclosure is an elevated area off the Arkle Bar.
The stylish interior design is luxurious with oak timber finishes, velvet finishes, and brass decorative lighting is a firm nod to the world of the thoroughbred racing industry.
The style of menu and service at the Enclosure matches the luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant. The a la carte menu designed by Executive Chef Bernard McGuane is a showcase of the best local and seasonal ingredients available. Diners can identify the provenance of the ingredients which are proudly name-checked on a map of Ireland on the reverse of the restaurant menu.
The day we visited, the chef prepared a fresh crab starter paired with a salad of shaved cucumber, avocado puree, apple and fresh micro leaves. Following this, the chef cooked a simple main course of Roast Supreme of Irish free-range chicken presented on a bed of pea, broad bean and chervil and garnished with a parmesan and hazelnut brittle, perfection!
The menu features innovative and house specialties including a seafood sharing platter and prime dry aged beef cut fresh to your liking and cooked on a charcoal griddle and presented on a board platter.
The Enclosure at Arkle serves lunch on Sunday’s 12.30pm – 2.30pm.
The Enclosure at Arkle is open for dinner daily from 5pm – 9pm.

Sustainability
The team at the Glenroyal Hotel are committed to responsible governance in terms of sustainability and have a number of practices in place to ensure this.
There is a full waste minimisation and recycling management system in place. Furthermore, all bedrooms are stocked with complimentary water bottles packaged in compostable containers. All bedroom single-use mini toiletries have been eliminated and replaced with a dispenser bottle reducing the impact of waste to landfills and use of single-use plastics.
The Glenroyal also make sourcing local food a priority while disposable products and takeaway containers are fully compostable.
The hotel is fitted with LED light fittings, reducing energy consumption. Moreover, the energy used by the Glenroyal Hotel includes a mains supply of natural gas.
Shoda Market Cafe is delighted to be partnered with the Too Good to Go app to help them on their journey to reducing food waste. This app allows customers to buy and collect a surprise bag of food that is unsold and would usually go to waste at the end of the day.
