Overview

The 5 Star luxurious Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel is a spectacular urban resort in the heart of Dublin’s business and theatre district. The 187-bedroom hotel was opened in 2013 offering a contemporary 5 Star location of choice to business and leisure visitors to Dublin. A centrepiece of the Grand Canal Square is the striking checkerboard exterior of the hotel. This was inspired by the landscape pattern of the Giants Causeway on the North Antrim coastline. Grand Canal Square is the centre point of the Docklands redevelopment. The square was designed by renowned American landscape architect Marta Scheartz. The design feature creates a visual illusion of a ‘Red Carpet’ leading from the water to the door of the Grand Canal Theatre, which comes to life at dusk when the red glowing angled lighting sticks are illuminated. Crossing the red pathway is a lush ‘Green Carpet’ of planters and lawns creating a ‘Greenway’ leading to the entrance of Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel. The square opens onto a large body of non-tidal water in Grand Canal Dock which amplifies the ‘Urban Resort’ offering promoted by Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel.
