Castle Leslie Estate, Co Monaghan, Good Food Ireland® Culinary Haven of the Year & Supreme Award Winner 2024 

Castle Leslie Estate, a proud member of the Good Food Ireland® Collection, was recently featured on the opening episode of Neven’s Ulster Food Tour, which aired on RTÉ One on Wednesday, 3rd September at 8:30pm.

In the RTÉ programme, chef Neven Maguire visited Castle Leslie Estate to explore its deep-rooted culinary heritage. He was warmly welcomed by Estate custodian Sammy Leslie and Executive Head Chef Aaron Duffy, who shared insights into the Estate’s food philosophy, one grounded in provenance, sustainability and a true sense of place.

Chef Duffy prepared a selection of elegant dishes inspired by the Estate’s historic Walled Garden, featuring local, seasonal ingredients and reflecting a dedication to Ireland’s rich culinary traditions. The episode provided a stunning showcase of Castle Leslie Estate’s ethos of working with Irish artisan producers, championing home-grown ingredients and delivering an authentic local food experience.

As part of the Good Food Ireland® Collection, Castle Leslie Estate consistently upholds the highest standards in sourcing and sustainability, prioritising indigenous Irish ingredients such as grass-fed beef, lamb, pork, bacon, dairy, poultry, fish and seafood, along with seasonal Irish vegetables and fruit. This special feature followed a landmark moment for the estate at the Good Food Ireland Awards 2024, held in association with FBD Insurance at The K Club. Castle Leslie Estate was honoured with the prestigious Culinary Haven of the Year Award and went on to receive the Overall Supreme Award 2024, the highest accolade of the evening, in recognition of its outstanding excellence and unwavering commitment to Irish food and drink, in perfect alignment with the Good Food Ireland® brand standards.
