Dining

The style of The Jharna is elegant and with a special Indian atmosphere. Owner Tariq commissioned two large original wall murals, one of Indian elephants and one of traditional Indian fashion. Both of these original art pieces have been copied for use in a number of the other restaurants in the group.

All of the house speciality dishes and sauces were developed in The Jharna and introduced as part of the menu in all of the other restaurants in the group. It truly is a hallmark for the restaurant group paving the way for future success for the future restaurants.

The day we visited, Chef prepared a tasting platter of dishes and did a masterclass demonstration of preparing the house special rice for the daily service. Rice is a simple but very important ingredient served with most of the main course dishes, the standout is the taste and fresh fragrance which is created by the chef using a recipe of fresh herbs and roasted seeds.

The Jharna has a flavour strength guide which is of great assistance to diners not familiar with Indian cuisine.

Dining out in The Jharna is an enjoyable and comfortable experience. A centrepiece to the restaurant is an island located open fire and water feature.

There is a raised alcove space in the restaurant which can be used for up to 20 guests offering a semiprivate dining space when required.

All of the meat used in Jharna is in line with the Halal traditions.

Furthermore, The Jharna uses compostable takeaway packaging for their takeaway service along the premises being fitted with energy-saving LED lighting.
