in Amsterdam and Brussels with Tourism Ireland

Immediate Release - October 2025

Good Food Ireland®, the all-island brand for authentic Irish food and drink experiences, proudly participated this week in Tourism Ireland’s tour operator and travel agent workshops in Amsterdam and Brussels, promoting Ireland’s unique culinary offering and food and drink experiences to key international travel trade representatives.

As part of these events Good Food Ireland® met with influential travel professionals across both cities to highlight Ireland’s growing appeal as a food tourism destination and promote the businesses who are part of the Good Food Ireland® Collection, in addition to the new Good Food Ireland® food and drink experiences booking platform.

Alison Johnston meets H.E. Mr Kevin Conmy, Irish Ambassador to Belgium

In Brussels, Alison Johnston, Sales & Marketing Director, Good Food Ireland® had the honour of meeting H.E. Mr. Kevin Conmy, Irish Ambassador to Belgium, to discuss the importance of food in and tourism growth. The Ambassador praised the role of Irish food and drink in strengthening Ireland’s image abroad.

Attendees of the workshops enjoyed a specially curated taste of Ireland through a showcase of award-winning artisan produce, including Ditty’s Oatcakes, Irish Black Butter – a unique sweet/savoury apple preserve, and marshmallows from The Mallow Makers.

Speaking about the event, Margaret Jeffares, Founder and Managing Director of Good Food Ireland®, said: It’s a privilege to join Tourism Ireland in showcasing the Good Food Ireland® Collection and Experiences to our travel trade partners in Belgium and the Netherlands. These markets have a deep appreciation for quality, sustainability and authenticity, values that are at the heart of Good Food Ireland®. The response to the food showcase and the wider food and drink travel experiences has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Tourism Ireland’s workshops serve as a vital platform to influence decision-makers in the travel trade, encouraging them to promote the island of Ireland not just as a scenic and cultural destination, but as a place where food lovers can enjoy world-class, locally produced fare.

With food playing a central role in the travel experience, Good Food Ireland® continues to champion Ireland’s vibrant and authentic food culture across Europe and beyond.
