Ballymaloe Foods produce a wide range of versatile relishes and sauces that brings a burst of flavour to any dish with over 13 products in their range for you to enjoy. In the 1930′s Ivan Allen started growing tomatoes on Ballymaloe farm. However, he found that when he tried to sell them at the local markets, people didn’t know what they were. This left his wife, Myrtle with a glut of tomatoes in her kitchen so she decided to start making a country relish with them. This relish went on to become a very popular and much-loved part of all family meals. Years later their daughter, Yasmin started using this same recipe to make Ballymaloe Original Relish for local shops and restaurants. She set up Ballymaloe Foods in 1991 with Ballymaloe Original Relish, the company has grown and the range has expanded to over 13 products.
Cut crusty white bread into cubes and toast them in the oven.
Place the garlic, Ballymaloe Relish and parsley in a fondue pot or small saucepan, stir, then add the grated cheese (It can be prepared ahead up to this point).
Just before serving, place over a low heat until the cheese melts and begins to bubble, do not stir it too much while it is cooking otherwise the mixture may split. Serve the fondue immediately with the toasted bread.
