BYE BYE JANUARY

We don’t want to be wishing our lives away here, but we’re not sorry to see the back of January! It feels like the longest month of the year. The dark days drag us down and post Christmas food lag is at its height. Today we say goodbye to the first month of the year. Tomorrow is February 1st. St Brigid’s Day. The feast day of one of Ireland’s patron saints and also officially the first day of spring. We welcome the end of winter – although that doesn’t mean we will be seeing the last of the cold weather. But it feels more bearable as February arrives. This is when the birds start pairing and there’s definitely a touch of the ‘young man’s fancy turns to love’ feel around. Valentine’s Day on the 14th February is all about that. Romantic destinations are definitely our thing at Good Food Ireland. Dylan boutique hotel in Dublin is an exquisite venue for a night for two. Head Chef Glenn Murphy has a corker of a menu lined up for Valentine’s night. Chocolate is included! Afterwards, a cocktail or two in the cocktail bar and Japanese Terrace Garden. Rooms at Dylan beg to be shared by lovers. Sensual and stylish – perfect for cosying up after that sumptuous meal.
