PATIENCE IS REWARDED!

It’s been a long time coming – but the new cafe at Bretzel Bakery in Dublin has finally been launched this month – to huge success. Since the bakery opened in 1870 in the residential Portobello area, customers have often asked why they couldn’t just sit down and enjoy the homemade breads, buns and pastries Bretzel is famous for. The reply was always the same – there simply wasn’t room. Until now! When we last called to the bakery in late summer, renovations were well underway but we didn’t get a preview glimpse because the work was going on behind boards, in an extension to the rear of the shop. All the waiting has paid off – Bretzel launched its completely revamped Bakery with Cafe on 1st December. Customers are absolutely delighted they can now perch themselves with a good strong cup of coffee and pastry of choice, to read the papers and enjoy a bit of chit chat with fellow customers. This neighbourhood bakery is now a neighbourhood cafe and local residents reckon it was well worth the 144 year wait! Well done to all and we wish them another 144 years ( and the rest),  of successful trading in this established premises. Just in time for Christmas, festive baking is on the menu of course – pop in and order yours over coffee and cake this month.
