‘It was a brave man that ate the first oyster…’ so we quote today from an unknown writer. Perhaps our readers can enlighten us there? The quote is probably accurate. Oysters were once the food of poor men. Considered not much to rave about. Now they are a luxury. In season every month with an ‘R’ in it.  A plate of raw oysters is said to boost the love life. Casanova  dined on them every morning. And boasted of their effect on his libido. Why? Well some say they have high levels of zinc and special proteins which boost testosterone levels. Others reckon they contain dopamine, which triggers arousal centres in the brain. So as we discovered yesterday, it’s chocolate for the women.  And oysters for the men.  Mix at your discretion…
