TASTE OF DUBLIN 2015

WE’RE CELEBRATING! THE TASTE OF DUBLIN FOOD FESTIVAL RETURNS TO THE IVEAGH GARDENS THIS JUNE, CELEBRATING ‘10 YEARS OF TASTE’

Included in the fabulous  tenth anniversary Taste of Dublin Festival is a magical line up of events to delight and entertain any food lover.

This year, to mark ’10 Years of Taste’  Taste of Dublin presented the Taste Icon Award 2015, in association with Waterford Crystal and it’s recently launched Lismore Connoisseur Collection. This  prestigious award was presented to internationally recognised mulit award winning Irish chef Richard Corrigan, for his dedication to championing Irish produce and ingredients.  Chef Richard follows in the giant footsteps of the Doyenne of Irish food, Myrtle Allen, of Ballymaloe House, in winning this award in 2015. Exclusively to this year’s festival,  this iconic chef  will be hosting a cookery demonstration in the Electrolux Taste Theatre, followed by a Q&A session.

Electrolux once again returns as head sponsor at Taste of Dublin 2015. The magnificent Electrolux Taste Theatre will be the arena for a showcase of the impressive culinary skills of an array of world class chefs.  Visitors to the festival can get up close and personal with their favourite cookery personalities, during interactive cookery demonstrations as part of The Electrolux Chefs’  Secrets programme. The Electrolux Secret Ingredient is a truly sensory experience involving smell, sound, touch  and taste, to reveal the key ingredients which give dishes their special flavour.  These sessions run hourly on a first come first served basis, so make sure you arrive early!

Also at this year’s special celebration, Sony presents a Taste of Japan. This unique experience includes Sushi and Saki Masterclasses as well as signature Sushi dishes from Banyi Restaurant. Sushi expert Fiona Uyema hosts Masterclasses twice daily, bookable on the day. Early booking advised. Combining the best of Japanese technology with great food, the Sony Taste of Japan stand will have the latest Sony  Smart Phones and Tablets and a fantastic selection of sushi  dishes and saki cocktails developed specially for Taste of Dublin 2015.

Coffee lovers shouldn’t miss the Experience Nespresso!  Nespresso brings an exclusive coffee experience to it’s first attendance at Taste of Dublin this year,  with famous Michelin starred Dublin chef Kevin Thornton in attendance in the Tasting Lounge.
