A Timeless Tradition, Afternoon Tea at The Conrad

New afternoon Tea Menu launched at Conrad Dublin

The tradition of afternoon tea dates back to the 18th Century and that tradition lives on at the luxury Conrad Dublin hotel, which has introduced a new afternoon tea menu that includes something a little extra – a gift for guests. Conrad Dublin’s afternoon tea now comes with a touch of Conrad luxury at the end of their experience, a gift of strawberry and orange macaroons as well as a taster of the traditional and flavoured teas that are served.

The new menu, available from May 1st, still pays homage to the traditional afternoon menu with warm scones with cream and jam, dainty sandwiches and classic pastries but executive chef, Dmitry Stroykov has put his own twist on things and guests can enjoy a more modern take on having tea in the afternoon with a contemporary selection of open sandwiches delicately finished with the likes of truffle aioli, chilli and onion relish and caper berries, decadently sweet cones filled with lemon and passion fruit mousse and chocolate brownies covered in Valrhona Chocolate.

Guests can choose from a selection of fine teas or for a special treat, Conrad Dublin has selected Lanson White Label Champagne to complement its afternoon tea offering.  From the House of Lanson, White Label is a blend favouring Chardonnay for its finesse and Pinot Noir for its power.
Food provenance features strongly on the new menu with ingredients sourced locally each day.  Glen of Aherlow braised ham, Burren Smoke House Salmon and Bretzel Bakery Bread all playing their part synonymously in this creative offering.
For those with special dietary requirements, there is a special gluten-free afternoon tea menu where the existing exciting selection is exchanged for wheat-free delights.

Dmitry Stroykov said: “When devising the new menu we talked to our guests and our own team and it was apparent that people expected something innovative and different, but didn’t really want us to stray too far away from the traditional afternoon tea of scones and sandwiches. So what we have created is something of an afternoon tea fusion, marrying the old with the new”.
Afternoon tea at Conrad Dublin is available daily between 3pm – 5pm and is priced at €35pp or €45pp for Champagne afternoon tea. Bookings are required.

Located in the heart of the city on Earlsfort Terrace, the five-star Conrad Dublin is the ideal setting and perfect haven away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy traditional or Champagne afternoon tea.
