Underground Dining in Bangor offers a relaxed yet refined experience, with a menu that balances creativity and quality local produce.
The a la carte menu includes an extensive choice of tasters – small dishes similar to tapas – which pair perfectly with a glass of wine. Our tasting began with crisp fish skins and chips, served on a wooden board with a miniature bottle of vinegar and a thimble of salt. Cleverly presented and full of flavour, it set the tone for what followed.
Spiced Tandoori Lamb Arancini with curried mayonnaise and salad came next, a dish that impressed with both presentation and taste.

For mains, the fillet of Beef Wellington stood out. Cooked to order and served with Wild Mushroom Duxelle, Dauphinoise Potato, Broccoli Stems, Spiced Red Cabbage and a Red Wine Jus, it proved to be exceptional and was clearly a popular choice among diners.
Dessert was a Caramel Roulade with vanilla ice cream, lightly dusted with crushed raspberries. Elegant and flavoursome, it offered a perfect finish.
With pages devoted to steaks, vegetarian and vegan dishes and a wide range of tasters, the menu caters to all tastes. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable, guiding guests through each element of the plate with confidence.
Underground Dining succeeds in offering variety, quality and value – a restaurant that has secured its place as one of Bangor’s most enjoyable dining experiences.
The menus at Underground Dining are a story in themselves. One page is devoted to tasters – small plates that let you try a little of everything, perfect with a glass of wine. Another celebrates steaks – salt-aged, chargrilled and served with sides and sauces of your choice. For those who prefer meat-free, there’s a full vegetarian and vegan menu with dishes every bit as tempting as the classics. Add to that a main menu packed with seasonal starters and hearty mains, along with indulgent desserts and a well-chosen drinks list – and it’s clear there’s something here for everyone.
