Here is a special invitation! An opportunity to enjoy an historic occasion. Just in time for Christmas, come along to the official opening of the Smallest Distillery in Ireland! This proud honour goes to Highbank Orchard, who are launching  the new distillery in conjunction with the Highbank Christmas Food and Craft Fair on the weekend of 13th and 14th December. Thirty food and craft stall holders will also be present, for Christmas shopping ideas. Hot and cold Food, hot apple juice, Glasrai & Goodies hampers and toys all on sale. Also an opportunity to get your Christmas tree, plus a chance for the kids to enjoy a puppet theatre by Miriam Lambert, Mid Winter Mini Beast Hunt, Orchard Train rides and the odd appearance by the big man in red himself! Adults will enjoy the Stress Free Christmas Cooking and Butter Making Demos. Attending the food and craft fare is free and open to all, but it may be wise to book ahead for specific events as places are limited. The Official Opening Ceremony of the distillery is on Saturday 13th December at 12 noon. A special occasion for Highbank and –  we are certain   -the start of many successful years of Highbank Orchard Spirit production.  The ribbon of the new distillery will be cut at 12 noon, opening the doors to the home of Highbank Orchard Spirit. Kilkenny’s answer to French Calvados. The first bottles will be on sale over the weekend. Don’t miss out – Highbank Orchard Spirit is the perfect accompaniment to the Christmas Pudding or a hot mince pie! Also look out for Highbank’s range of ciders and the amazing Highbank Orchard Syrup, a concentrated apple syrup to use on anything from morning porridge to crepes and ice cream – also a fantastic accompaniment on crackers with good cheese!
