It’s all happening in February in the Good Food Ireland membership! There are events galore to welcome the spring season. There are workshops, masterclasses, cookery demos, and special offers to take advantage of throughout the month. Not to mention some delightful Valentine Escapes and a feast for Pancake Tuesday.

Pour yourself a cuppa, pull up a chair and enjoy browsing the highlights of the month from our very creative and talented members.


Donegal town is famous for its real west of Ireland welcome. A fine place to get it is The Lemon Tree Restaurant. A sassy little eatery where ‘We are Family’ is at the forefront of service at both the front and back of the house. The Lemon Tree Early Bird and Sunday Lunch Offers are running all year. Seasonal produce is at the heart of the menus. Check them out!

For the month of February, enjoy a seasonal dish at a snip of a price. Belfast Black Beef Stew for just £10 features local stout and is on offer at all Hastings Hotels in Northern Ireland. Dig in and enjoy!

The Queen of Italian cooking is set to wow in February. TV celebrity chef and cookbook author Catherine Fulvio, of Ballyknocken House and CookerySchool, is in residence at Renvyle House in Co. Galway, for a Five Course Italian Banquet and Cook with Catherine Fulvio Weekend at the end of this month.  We want to go!

Granny Griffin is in action at The Spinning Wheel Cafe at Griffin’s Garden Centre throughout February. Take part in a Seafood MasterclassSavvy Stocks, Soups and Sauces demo, or a Baking Masterclass – which will be quite something from the lady who currently holds the title of baker of Ireland’s best scones in 2015.

Dublin Cookery School Presents Cooking with Friends, a class which will help you get to know one end of a kitchen from the other and knock up a fine feast to impress your buddies while you’re at it. Lynda Booth and her enthusiastic team make it look and feel easy.

Nutritionist Gaye Godkin is booked to give two interesting talks at Cornucopia vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Dublin this month. Book up for Your Heart is in Your Hands  or Foods that Affect Moods. This lady knows how to combine health and wellbeing with good taste.

Richy Virahsawmy is strutting his stuff in the kitchen with a Pasta, Sauces and Fillings from Scratch class at Richy’s Restaurant and R Cafe in Clonakilty, West Cork. The TV chef will have you cooking like a pro in no time.

In Dublin, Nikki Walsh is rocking it with her Three Course Dinner Party demo at her home kitchen cookery school. Expect chic and style from one of the capital’s most funky cooks.


You’ll be going flipping mad for the Pancake Tuesday Charity Afternoon Tea at Hayfield Manor on the 9th February. And by that we mean you’ll be crazy for the luxury goodies coming your way at this delightful ‘white glove service’ event at the five star hotel’s Orchids restaurant.
